Your job

You will start work as soon as convenient, and take over from David by the end of 2011:
1   marketing and sales of both Holidays and Dryer
2   oversight of Mull operations, including employment and support of the Wardens
3   general management of the business, including non-routine buying, other employment, accounts, tax, insurance, regulation, risk assessment and legal.

David hopes to open the Edinburgh site early in 2012, which means completing acquisition and planning and starting construction by mid 2011.  If successful, he will integrate the marketing by end Sep 2011, and you will take responsibility for Edinburgh as well as Mull by end 2011.

Your terms and conditions

All negotiable. Salary around £30K to £35K, with a bonus of an additional year's salary on successful completion of your 3 year term. Accommodation in Edinburgh may be available from mid 2011.  Accommodation is available on Mull for extended visits to learn the business.

Equity participation

We have registered Shieling Holidays as Company No. SC171783 but our instinct is to avoid incorporation yet as an unnecessary complication and expense. If we incorporate at the end
of your 3 year term you will be welcome to take equity.  However, we are open to persuasion  that we should incoporate now.  More people and money might speed up progress and help resolve disagreements.  So we will listen to any investors wishing to contribute.

Criteria for inclusion on the short list

To be on the short list, you must convince us of your energy and determination. A track record is more important than paper qualifications. You are likely to be an all-rounder who shows aptitude and ideally a track record in most if not all of the following areas: marketing and sales; employment and motivation; project management; computers and administration. DIY and cleaning skills are key in the holiday business and will give you authority with staff. All applications will be acknowledged. If you are on the short list you will be interviewed by phone then in person, possibly in a working interview on Mull.
