David and Moira are so glad that Billy and Nicky McClymont have bought the business on Mull. They have made a flying start, trading as Shieling Holidays Mull Ltd. Billy worked for Shieling Holidays early on, so has known the business for thirty years. He and Nicky will be a great success.
Off Mull, David continues to trade as Shieling Holidays, selling Dryers (see below) and other Shieling products. He also hopes to develop a hub site near Edinburgh from which to send visitors on to Mull.
The areas surrounding the campsite are rich in habitats of sea, shore, bog, grassland and woodland. This website suggests what to see, and when and where to see it. There is a map, and a check-list that children can use to tick things off as they find them.
Contributions of photographs are most welcome. For example, the photo of the stag at the top of the page was taken by a guest. Many thanks to them. You can find details of wildlife tour operators on land and sea through the Mull Links page.
One winter David had to mend a timber lifeboat from a Clyde Puffer. He had to dry the timbers first. How, in winter in Mull? Answer: the Shieling Dryer. Wind passing the open ends makes a through draft. It has dried clothes ever since. Save money, save the planet. Hang it up, forget about it, it will just dry in the rain. For free. Try the Dryers out for free while you are holidaying at Shieling Holidays Mull. You can see that David Bellamy likes the smaller Family Dryer.
